September 2011 Paul and Sev from Oxfordshire
We had a lovely short break in August. A very warm welcome, great views, peaceful
and away from the crowds and a 2 minute walk from the coastal path which is
stunning. A great base from which to explore the sandy beaches from Aberaeron to
Llangranog and further. Aberystwyth, Newcastle Emlyn, Devil's Bridge, Cenarth
Falls, Cardigan, Aberporth, all within an easy drive and well worth the visit.
Great beaches at New Quay and you can walk right round to Cei Bach when the tide
goes out. Andy and Helen are wonderful hosts. We will be returning. Many thanks!
-
September 2011 Heidi and Neil (Aka Charlie Boorman) from Cumbria

August 2011 Anthony, Sharon, Roisin from Brighton
Really lovely site, excellent position, Helen and Andy are wonderful, really helpful
and excellent with kids. We loved it here and will definately come back.
-
August 2011 Neil, Vicki & Lucy from Cheshire
Amazingly friendly welcome by Andy, told to pitch wherever we wanted to. Fantastic
panoramic views of Cardigan Bay. Despite the fact the site filled up really
quickly, as this was August Bank Holiday Weekend, space was found for the odd
straggler and stray camper. Great dog friendly site, with the hilarious stunt dog
of Andy's that rides around on the roof of his truck. Don't think you'd find a
friendlier site in Wales...and we'll certainly be visiting again!!! Many thanks!!!
-
August 2011 Paul Hiom from Swindon
Had a great week and a bit at this place very recently with the family. Helen and
Andy are the loveliest site owners you could wish to meet; Andy has a wicked sense
of humour and is often around the site chatting to campers and having a giggle. The
site is small, which is what attracted us to it; it can get a bit busy and at times
the facilities are insufficient for the number of campers; subsequently you can end
up waiting a while for the loo or shower. There are plans to extend the facilities.
There is a little duck pond on site which is a great draw for the kids as is Tonto,
the horse that lives in an adjacent field. Andy occasionally lets the kids (and
adults) ride Tonto. The site can get windy, so make sure you peg out your tent
sufficiently. All in all, we had a great time, we loved the site and the fresh farm
eggs and will probably go back again.
-
August 2011 Craig and Steph from Cardiff
Just arrived home from our 1 week stay here and we wish it was longer! The site is
a true gem run by the kindest people you will ever meet who couldnt have been more
helpful!! The site is beautiful with exceptional views across cardigan bay and the
animals give it extra personality. Thank you for a wonderful stay and everything
you did for us and see you next year!! We cant wait!!
-
August 2011 Richard Hughes from South Staffs
Upon arrival we were greeted by Andy who is a brilliant host and extremely helpful.
The site itself is very well maintained, we were told to pick a spot. The view we
had was fantastic. Having the ducks, geese and sheep nearby was an added bonus for
our 18 month old daughter. If you're planning a little getaway with or with out
kids i highly recommend Ty Rhos.
thanks guys
-
August 2011 Kath Kelly from Bolton, Lancs
Aug 2011. Excellent site if you want to chill and wildlife watch. We were lucky
enough to see badgers nearby which was a first for us. Helen and Andrew were a
lovely couple welcomed you with a cheerful smile every time they saw you and
couldn't be helpful enough. Will definitely be back. Thanks for making our stay a
great success.
-
July 2011 Heather Evans from Builth Wells
Just got back from a lovely few days holiday in Newquay, this is a lovely site, just perfect for my family, the kids had a brilliant time riding their bikes and playing football. Will definately be coming back next year, if not sooner. :)
-
June 2011 Ken Forshaw from St.Helens, Lancs
Lovely little site, and run by very welcoming people, now changing our plans for
a re-visit later this year. Thanks again to Andy + Helen ..see you soon!
-
June 2011 Ron Leech from Knighton, Powys
If you are looking for a place where you can get away from it all and relax, Ty
Rhos is the place to go. The site itself is imaculately maintained, in a remote
location but still within walking distance of New Quay. The Coastal Path is less
than a 10 minute walk away, and the views are second to non. Site owners Helen and
Andy could not be more friendly or helpful, and for a keen walker like me, their
knowledge of the area provided some very interesting information relating to the
places that I had visited during my stay there. This was my first visit to the area
for nearly 20 years, but I will definately be going back to Ty Rhos and cannot
recommend it highly enough. Brilliant.
-
September 2010 Michelle & Jason Malone from Birmingham
Thankyou so much for a lovely holiday. Helen and Andy are so welcoming including both dogs and ducks.
Site was fantastic with views to die for. Holiday was so good that we left the van there and returned the following weekend
to have another short break.
-
September 2010 Don/Lynn from Nottingham
Hi just like to thank Andy & Helen for the great time we had. This is a great site & we will most certainly be recommending it to
friends and family. We will be returning our selves in the near future.
-
September 2010 Mr M Brown from Shrewsbury
We enjoyed three days of relaxation with our camper van here. The view is stunning,
the price was right and the staff bent over backwards to meet our every need. Everyone needs to have at least one nights stay.
If you are looking for chips chops and bingo halls, forget it. We'll be back.
-
August 2010 Paige and Alistair from Shropshire
Ty Rhos farm is a beautiful and scenic campsite, with a beautiful view of the opposing fields and newquay beach,
near enough only a 10 minute walk down the road is a lovely little pub which serve brilliant meals and another
15 minutes down the road is the lovely little town of newquay which is quaint and quiet, we would definately reccommend this campsite to many
friends and family as we really enjoyed our stay and it a very relaxing and peaceful place to be, so thankyou for
having us and we shall definately be returning in the near future! x
-
August 2010 Debbie and Sam from Morecambe
Thankyou to the owners who were friendly and made us feel very welcome at their site.
The ducks are also very friendly and fun to wath as they waddle around the site. A sign on the main road and
perhaps also up the track might help people to find the site more easily.
-
August 2010 Karen and Brian from Pontypridd in Rhondda Cynon Taff
Ty Rhos is a pretty and very well-kept campsite with views of the sea and the
surrounding countryside. The owners (and their two sheepdogs!) are extremely
friendly and helpful and the site itself is only a short walk from Newquay and also
from the coastal path and surrounding beautiful, unspoilt countryside - so the best
of both worlds! We had a lovely, restful time walking the coastal path and watching
the seals and visiting Newquay, where we saw dolphins from the jetty. All in all,
Ty Rhos is a lovely place to stay and highly recommended.
-
July 2010 Ian, Suzy & Zoe from Staffordshire
We came for a short break in June and loved the place so much we came back in July. My 4 year old daughter now asks if we can go there,
we shall be back again soon. Thankyou Helen and Andy for a fantastic holiday.
-
June 2010 Ema & Julia from Birmingham
Had a fantastic time, Helen and Andy where so friendly, even our two dogs were made to feel welcome, the site was well presented and the toilets/showers where very clean.
We was only going to stay 3 nights, but didn’t want to leave so we stayed one extra night, we will definitely be coming back soon
-
May 2010 The Moreton Family from Blackwood Gwent
A lovely welcome, a beautiful place totally unspoilt....Clean facilities. A Big thank you to
Helen & Andy for making my 40th birthday special. A perfect getaway, lovely coastal walks and only
a ten minute walk into New Quay. So close to nature with the ducks greeting you every morning.
Beautiful. Will definately return. Thank you again both.
-
April 2010 Claire & Dan from Powys
Stayed for one night and were tempted to skive work to stay longer ... we'll be back.
Great views, great location and the friendliest hosts. Hope to see you again soon.
-
October 2009 Julie and Wyn, Shropshire
A great site. Andrew is so friendly and the views are great. Clean, well organised campsite. Looking forward to the self catering houses to be available as well.
-
September 2009 Gill Smith from Darwen, Lancashire
We have just arrived home from a fantastic weeks stay,
we should of left on Saturday but as the weather was so
good we had to stay until the Sunday. Great site, lovely views and the hosts
Andy and Helen (and Spike) gave us a great welcome.
Hoping we can make time next year to go. Jay and Holly (our dogs) are both fast asleep,
dreaming of their holiday.
-
September 2009 Paul & Annie
What a brilliant site with
a great view... Not to far from the beach (which is a pleasant walk)
and great for walking our dog (Jet) down the country lanes whilst
enjoying the views of the coastline and wildlife.
We arrived on the Friday and left on the Monday - We wish we stayed
for the week at least..
Keep up the good work and we will all see you again in 2010.
Thanks to Andy & Helen for the welcome and firewood.
-
September 2009 Tracy & Simon (& Poppy the grumpy Jack Russel)
First of all, apologies to everyone for our grumpy dog (especially
Spike), she was having a bad week. Thanks for a great stay on your
lovely site (don't change a thing - except the weather maybe?!) Keep
up the good work :o)
-
September 2009 Wendy, Mark, Connor, Jimmy, Flossy & Molly
WOW! What a find! super, relaxed and uncrowded site. Many thanks for
the fire wood and cup of tea it was much appreciated. Flossy is
missing Spike.
A wonderful welcome from Helen & Andy and not forgetting Spike. We
will defiantly be coming back soon. Thanks again.
-
August 2009 Tim and Sarah
What a gem of a site Ty Rhos
Farm is. Perfect for peace and relaxation, just what we needed, we
had a lovely stay. Helen and Andy are very welcoming and always
willing to be of assistance, should you need it. A sea view from our
caravan windows was a delight and the ducks and geese provided great
amusement. We shall return, no doubt.
-
August 2009 Ian, Suzann, Kerry & Heidi Morris
Just come back from a weeks camping at Ty Rhos and already missing the place.
It was just perfect for what we wanted, peace and quite and
somewhere safe for the kids, Kerry loved the freedom of being able
to wander around the campsite with her new found friend James, who
she still misses. Can't wait to come back next year but this time
for 2 weeks instead of 1. Thanks to Andy for the chats and making us
feel so welcome. Roll on 2010.
-
August 2009 Jim and Emily
Hello!
Just a quick one to thank you for making us feel so very welcome at
your wonderful site, and thus helping us have an amazing holiday! I
have never been to such a friendly/clean campsite! Keep up all of
your good work. We hope to see you again soon!
-
August 2009 Alison Morton
This is a lovely, simple
campsite in a stunning location (and very cheap!). The owners are
friendly and welcoming, and the geese and ducks on the next field
provide endless entertainment if you require more than just sitting
watching the sun set over the sea. Great location which I hope to
return to soon.
-
August 2009 Dylan and Emma-Kate
Just spent a few days
on this campsite and it was wonderful. The views from the site are
beautiful and the welcome by Andy (and his dog spike!) made us at
home. We were planning to go into New Quay both nights we stayed but
never made it as we had such a great time on the site. We will
definitely visit again.
-
August 2009 Nev & Julie
Our first time "proper camping"
and we could not have picked a better site as we were made to feel
so welcome by Andy and Spike. I have to agree that it's a hidden gem
so make sure you stick with the same formula. Great walks and
scenery - will be back next year to sample the local and it's food
and also see how the improvements are going.
-
August 2009 Denise & Rick
Ditto the previous comment!
What an amazing time we had and superb site, which we will be
recommending to all of our friends! Thank you for making us feel so
welcome. We loved walking along the coastal path which started just
on the door step of the site, enjoyed the lovely home-made food of
the pub which was just a 10 minute walk down the road, walking for
just about 20 mins into New Quay with its shops and pubs and lovely
bay, the gorgeous views of both sea and hills from the site as well
as feeding the ducks and geese on site before we left! We felt truly
spoilt. Your campsite is a hidden gem and we too hope there will be
enough room for us next time we come!! Thanks again! :-)
-
August 2009 Jim and Kelly
What could we say about our
recent stay? We could echo every comment made previously and do, and
some. I, myself, am loathe to say TOO much, because its a gem and
I'd hate to see it go mainstream. Selfish? You bet ! But anyone that
has been under canvas, looking for 'that' special little plot, look
no further. But woe betide if we can't get two weeks in next summer
due to demand ! Wish I'd said nothing now :( Thanks to you
both for it all! You and the people you and the site attract, are a
grand combination PS Don't tell your friends.
-
August 2009 Katrina and Dave Benton
Love camping at
this site, for its peacefulness, friendliness with those we meet and
such kindness and help from Andy and Helen who are always wanting
our stay to be welcoming. We have camped here twice, two weeks at a
time and used the caravan at Easter. Love the scenery, and the
dolphins are spectacular. The children also love the tranquillity of
this site, with still loads of fun of the countryside and farm
animals.
What one needs to gain rest and uplift, fantastic!!
-
August 2009 Dom, Helen, Libby and Ava
We stopped off at
Ty Rhos for two nights this summer after struggling to find a site
nearby that suited. We've stayed in a lot of sites over the years in
the camper and I've got to say that Ty Rhos is our new favourite.
Spectacular location, great facilities (amazingly clean), lovely and
quiet (but not wierdly so), level pitches with sea views, very
reasonably priced, very friendly and helpful management and great
eggs. What more could you ask for? We generally tour around and only
stop for a few nights at a time, but with Ty Rhos we'll be back and
next time for longer!
-
July 2009 Paul & Michelle
Firstly thank you to Sarah
Ward for helping us put up our tent, our stay was great, weather was
not so good, but was made to feel very welcome by Andy and Helen.
Great base for coastal walks, dolphin spotting in New Quay. Lovely
pub for meals just a short walk away. Hopefully see you next year if
Paul can persuade Michelle to camp again and leave behind basic
luxuries!!!
-
July 2009 Sarah and James
Brilliant campsite, we were
made to feel very welcome. James loved playing with Spike and is
still missing him. As Sarah Ward said, that cup of tea at the end
was much appreciated!
-
July 2009 Sarah Ward
Had a great time, lovely place to
relax. Thanks for the cup of tea after we had packed away it was
very welcome. Rowans really enjoyed himself and was sorry to leave.
See you next year!!
-
July 2009 John Hill
We loved it, will definitely come
back again!
-
May 2009 Sophie + Jeff (and Jake the Husky)
Beautiful
location, well kept caravan and ideal area for dog walking! Even the
bad weather couldn't spoil our visit, we will definitely return!
Jake says thank you and he will be back to play with Spike.
-
May 2009 David and Alison Contarch
+ Lucky from Hereford
A lovely break, nice van, great
place to stay, nature on the doorstep and fantastic coastline. What
could be better?! we'll be back!
P.s thanks for the biscuits and wild flowers - a nice welcoming
touch.
